Hibiscus 'Watermelon Ruffles' PPAF

Common Name: Rose Mallow, Hardy Hibiscus

Highly decorative flowers are the hallmark of this Hardy Hibiscus. 7" magenta pink flowers have heavily ruffled petals. The end of each petal is so puckered they appear notched. Flowers are indeterminate and appear the length of the stem, translating to more blooms earlier in the season when compared with traditional cultivars. The brightly colored and textured flowers are set off against a habit of dark green leaves with a bronze cast. Use this perennial to attract pollinators in the landscape and customers in the garden center!

These North American native plants bring massive, tropical-looking flowers all the way to zone 4. Although later to emerge than most perennials in spring, these are fast growing plants capable of adding an inch of new growth a day. Excellent at brightening up end of season gardens.
