Heat up your summer garden with SIZZLE & SPICE® Coreopsis, a new line of Threadleaf Coreopsis from Walters Gardens, Inc. hybridizing. Members of this collection have compact, rounded habits that are covered with flowers from early to late summer. With bright colors like red, orange, yellow and dark magenta, these varieties will capture your attention in the garden and on your retail shelves alike.
This brazen perennial demands attention during the summer with its cheery and bright yellow color. 1-1½" wide, lemon yellow flowers have deep maroon, nearly black centers. The flowers will cover the gray-green, threadleaf foliage for a showy midsummer display. This is a bright, sunny yellow versus the golden yellow color 'Curry Up'.
Coreopsis is easy to grow, making it a good choice for beginners. One plant will provide you with long-lasting cut flower bouquets all summer long.

Potting & Timing:
Root Trimming: Bare root may be trimmed to fit container.
If you are unable to provide heat and day length, plants will remain dormant until the environmental conditions prompt them to break.
Moisture:
While they are dormant, be sure to keep them on the dry side. Water in well when first planted.
Planting Level:
At crown level.
PGRs/Pinching:
Apply B-nine at 2500 ppm or Sumagic at 5 ppm as a spray.
This can be applied a week after pinching.
It is recommended to pinch coreopsis planted from plugs 1-2 times to promote lateral branching. This also controls the overall height of the plant.
Lighting:
Provide day lengths of 14 to 16 hours for flowering.
Grow in direct sunlight.
