Grower Tips:

Do not plant in the fall as Agapanthus do not overwinter well in containers.
If overwintering leftover plants it is best to do so in a minimally heated 35-38° F greenhouse.

Fertility:

Light to moderate fertility. Feed 75 - 100 ppm N at each watering or use a moderate rate of a controlled release fertilizer.

For Controlled Release or Slow Release Fertilizer, see your preferred supplier for recommended rates for incorporation or top dressing, as it varies by fertilizer.

Vernalization:

We ship a vernalized bare root plant. Not recommended to overwinter in containers.

Pests & Diseases:

Watch for slugs and snails. Botrytis can be problematic under humid conditions.

Potting & Timing:

Spring potting of bare root plants is recommended.
Expect 6-8 weeks to fill out a 1 gallon container. It is best to use true 4 quart gallon pots instead of trade 1 gallon pots.

Moderate moisture

Planting Level:

Eyes should be 0.5-1 inch below the soil line.
