Fertility:

Vernalization:

If grown from a fresh plug, 5-8 weeks of cold are required for flowering.

Black vine weevil damage, foliar nematode.

Viruses, leaf spots (Colletotrichum, Alternaria), anthracnose.

Potting & Timing:

Small plugs are best planted in mid to late summer of the year prior to sales. Large vernalized plugs can be planted in late winter or early spring.

Moisture:

Medium moisture levels. Water well after planting and increase watering as the foliage emerges.

Place crown just below soil surface.
