Fertility:

Feed moderately at 75-125 ppm N at each watering while plants are activly growing. Feed rates should be lower during warm temperatures since growth rate slows.

Vernalization:

Provide 8-10 weeks of temperature below 45° for best flower performance.

Pests & Diseases:

The most common issues with Epimedium are viruses and root nematode. Avoid trimming to prevent the spread of viruses.

Potting & Timing:

Best planted in summer of the season prior to sales. Plants will do most of their bulking under cool temperatures in fall and spring.

Moisture:

Moderate to moist while actively growing in spring and fall. Moderate to slightly dry during summer when growth slows.

Planting Level:

Crown should be planted slightly below soil line.

PGRs/Pinching:

Since Epimedium are evergreen, avoid trimming plants. Only remove dead foliage.

Lighting:

Provide 30% - 50% shade in summer.
